The production is directed by Aroostook County native Darci Faye and choreographed by Chris Hendricks, a professional choreographer from New York City. Performances will take place Friday, July 13th, at 7 pm and Saturday, July 14th at 2 and 7 pm. The shows will continue on Friday, July 20th at 7 pm and again on Saturday the 21st at 2 and 7 pm at the Caribou Performing Arts Center at Caribou High School.

With only a few weeks of rehearsals left before the curtain opens for the community, the performers are hard at work and spent an entire week rehearsing 7 hours a day with Chris Hendricks to learn all of the choreography for the show. Chris came to Maine specifically to work with the cast of the local production for one week and his energy was contagious. “Chris was so encouraging and always made us feel like we could really do this!” shared cast member Emily Zell from Caribou who will turn 8 on opening night.

Darci Faye started the County Kids Theatre Company as a way to develop interest in theater earlier in the lives of kids. “I hope to give cast members a taste of what it would feel like to be professional actors,” Faye shared. “Opportunities for young people to be involved in theatrical productions are few and far between in Aroostook, so I felt that this theatre company would be a great way to provide that experience to area kids.” Kids and adults from all over Aroostook County have been cast in the show with some traveling from as far as Island Falls and Fort Kent.

Sponsored in part by Cary Medical Center’s Healthy You program, this show is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Advanced sale tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5 – 17 and FREE for ages 4 & under. Tickets are currently available from cast members and can also be purchased at the Caribou Rec Center, the Aroostook Centre Mall or the Northeastland Hotel.
