- Frontman Raul Malo met bassist Robert Reynolds in a record shop and the pair bonded over their mutual love of old-school country.
- The band's bracing mix of Latin pop and rockabilly put it in the good graces of music critics -- and, at times, out of favor with their label.
- Raul Malo - lead singer, Paul Deakin – drums, Robert Reynolds - bass player, Eddie Perez – guitarist and Jerry Dale McFadden – keyboards. Former guitarists include Ben Peeler, David Lee Holt and Nick Kane.
- The Mavericks reunited in 2012, and their new album Time arrived in early 2013.
