• In 1987 she performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in a benefit for Native Canadians organized by her then boyfriend.
• She has worked as a waitress, in a supermarket and for a computer company.
• When the family went camping, her step-father, Jerry, only took flour and sugar as the kids were supposed to catch all their own food.
• Her parents were killed when she was 22 years old.
• She took a job in the Viva Vegas revue at the Deerhurst holiday resort and raised her two half brothers until after they left school.
