Community Colleges Will be Able to Serve More Students
(AP) A philanthropic organization is giving more than $800,000 to the Foundation for Maine's Community Colleges to help serve more students.
The Kresge Foundation is providing the money. The community college system says the money will enable the seven colleges in the system to join the Achieving the Dream network.
The system says that will enable the colleges to work with national experts over the next three years to improve student outcomes.
Community college system president Derek Langhauser says the grant will advance the colleges' ability to serve students all over the state.
