Clemson Tigers hitters pounded UMaine pitching for 22 hits Sunday afternoon and got a 19-2. The Tigers take two of the three games in the season opening series.

After the Black Bears took a 1-0 in the top of the first inning on a Tyler Schwanz home run, Clemson scored two in the bottom of the inning and never trailed from there.

The Tigers had a seven run 5th inning with the big hit a grand slam by freshman Seth Beer.

Black Bear pitcher Jeff Gelinas(Jr,Thornton Academy) was charged with nine runs on 11 hits in four innings of work.

Maine managed just seven hits all day.

The 1-2 Bears play at New Mexico State next weekend.
