Classic Country Song of the Day – “Islands in the Stream” by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton [VIDEO]

A song written by Pop group the Bee Gees proved to be a smash for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton as “Islands in the Stream” sailed to the No.1 spot on this day in 1983.

The title comes from a novel by Ernest Hemingway and the song spent two weeks at the No.1 spot but eventually was crowned No.1 song of the year in 1983.
