Lee Greenwood, famous for his patriotic hit, ‘God Bless the U.S.A,” hit No.1 on this day in 1985 with ‘I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose).  It was Greenwood’s fourth No.1 and spent a week at the top spot and a total of fifteen weeks on the chart.
