Songwriter and Alabama frontman Randy Owen told country music journalist Tom Roland that during a nightclub performance in Kentucky there was a group of women celebrating a friend’s divorce.  That friend, however, was still mourning the end of the marriage and was not having a good time.  This was the inspiration for “Lady Down on Love.”
