Every year there's always the on-going battle of "Do I get Johnny that special (expensive) gift or what bills can I put off until after the holidays?"

My girlfriend has a big heart and loves to spoil the kids and grandkids. And that's a very admirable trait, but being the bookkeeper in the relationship, I have the unenviable task of being "Scrooge" from time to time. It's not that I don't want to lavish my friends and loved ones with great gifts, but I also like to eat and heat the house.

Do a lot of couples find themselves at odds during Christmas time? They say the Number 1 thing that couples fight about is money, or lack thereof. I realize I'm better off than a lot people, and for that I'm grateful. I'll just have to juggle a little better.

I think that there should be a freeze on all bills until after the New Year so that everyone can enjoy a stress-free Christmas.

I hope your holidays are very merry!
