Musicians On Call, a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, is bringing its healing powers to victims of the recent tragedy in Las Vegas.

On Tuesday (Oct. 10), artists Charles Esten (of Nashville fame), the Railers, and Filmore visited the local University Medical Center and Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center to meet with with patients, families, and caregivers, and give them a bit of distraction from the week’s events with a dose of good music.

Later that evening, the Railers and Filmore made a inspiring visit to the Emergency Room staff to thank the caregivers who were working the night of the tragedy, performing a rendition of “Lean on Me.”

On Wednesday, Michael Ray and Brandon Ray — who were performers at the Route 91 Festival this year — joined the lineup for a concert at the facility. The two now have the distinction of being the first singers from the festival to go back to Vegas to perform for survivors of the tragedy.

Additionally, after the performance, patients were surprised with a video call from country music icon, Reba McEntire, who gave well wishes for a speedy recovery.

“It was an honor and an incredibly emotional journey to sit with the patients and the first responders and hear their stories first hand,” said Michael Ray. “And we shared music together! Some people cried, some people laughed, some people experienced emotion for the first time since the tragedy.”

To continue delivering the healing power of music to Vegas, Musicians on Call is creating a playlist of songs that heal for those affected by the tragedy in Vegas. If you’d like to check it out and leave suggestions of your own for the list, visit here.
