Central Maine Man Sentenced to 1½ Years for Oxycodone Conspiracy

A 34-year-old Dixmont man received a sentence of 1½ years in prison and three years of supervised release for conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute oxycodone.

According to court records, Adam Hamilton sold 30 mg tablets after bringing oxycodone to Maine. He sold the tablets for $40 each. Hamilton conspired for several months with others to bring the drugs to Central Maine from Waterbury, Connecticut. The conspiracy existed from about June 2013 to about April 2015.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department investigated and prosecuted the case as part of the Department of Justice’s Strategy to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.
