A couple from Castle Hill was arrested earlier today following the execution of a search warrant.

According to the Aroostook County Sheriff's Department,officers went to 2880 State Road in Castle Hill shortly after midnight looking for a female at the request of Caribou Police.

Deputies knocked on the door and spoke resident Keith Jordan. Officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana. When Jordan was told the deputies were going to seek a search warrant, he became angry and attempted to flee. After a brief scuffle, Jordan was put in handcuffs. The residence was secured and MDEA Agents were called in to assist.

After a search warrant was obtained, officers and agents seized a 9 millimeter machine pistol, several rifles, a shotgun. Over a pound of processed marijuana, 53 grams of hashish, 53 marijuana plants, digital scales and drug ledgers were also seized.

Jordan has a prior felony conviction and is prohibited under state and federal law from possessing firearms.

Jordan was to the Aroostook County Jail charged with Prohibited Possession of a Firearm, Aggravated Trafficking in Marijuana, Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, Obstructing Government Administration and Disorderly Conduct.

His bail is set at $7,000 cash or $70,000 surety. Jordan’s girlfriend, 31-year-old Daween Waugh, was also arrested and is charged with Trafficking in Marijuana. Her bail is set at $5,000 unsecured.

Several children were at the home at the time and DHHS Child Protective Services were contacted to address that issue.

If convicted, Jordan faces up to ten years in prison.
