Carrie Underwood won really big at the 2016 CMA Awards, taking home the trophy for Female Vocalist of the Year for the first time since 2008.

She beat out Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves for the honor in a hard-fought category for the 50th anniversary of the award ceremony, breaking Lambert's winning streak.

"Glory to god! Thank you Jesus!" She cried, tearing up.

She also thanked her family wholeheartedly.

"Mike, I love you. Isaiah, you are my heart," she gushed.

Underwood went on to thank her professional team, Sony, songwriters and the many country legends assembled for the 50th CMA Awards.

"I've just become suddenly stupid," she said, unable to process any more of what she wanted to say. "I just love you all ... I don't know what else to say."

Underwood blasted back from her maternal leave with the release of her most recent album, Storyteller, in late 2015, and this year has been a particularly stellar year for the new mom and country superstar as she undertook a massive tour in support of the project, presenting the new songs and her classic in the round at concerts all over the country.

The album has also scored four hit singles with "Smoke Break," "Heartbeat," "Church Bells" and Underwood's latest single, "Dirty Laundry."
