Caribou Police received a complaint at 6:40 p.m. Sunday from a resident on the south end of the city who said she had just watched her Red Volkwagon Jetta drive out of the parking lot next door to the Caribou Inn & Convention Center. Officer Wilcox spotted the car traveling north on Route 1, at which point it turned onto Washington Street.

Caribou Police say the sole occupant bailed out of the car. Officer Marquis intercepted the male suspect on Vaughn Street covered in snow. Police arrested 23-year-old Nathan Morrow of Caribou and took him into custody.

At 8:20 p.m. Sunday, the Caribou Police Department received a complaint from a patron at the Caribou Inn saying that her 2006 Yamaha snowmobile was missing. The woman had parked the sled there about 3 hours earlier.

Police say the snowmobile was found on Monday stuck off of the trail about a half-mile away. Officer Ouellette was able to recover sneaker tracks from the abandoned snowmobile and link them to Morrow.

Morrow is charged with 2 counts of Unauthorized use of a Motor vehicle, Aggravated Unauthorized Use of Property, Violation of Conditional Release, and Operating Under the Influence.

Caribou Police said Morrow and another male from Caribou were convicted in 2014 for similar offenses after several motor vehicles in the Caribou and Presque Isle areas had been stolen and wrecked.
