Students looking for professional attire need just go to the closet....The Career Clothing Closet at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, that is.

The closet is geared especially for students and is open at the UMPI Campus Store. It's sponsored by the Student Activities Office, the Career Readiness Program, the Campus Store, and is open to those wishing to go in and browse or donate to the closet.

Although clothes in the store are free, if students feel they can afford to donate money after shopping, a donation jar has been set up on the front counter. Staff will be on hand should shoppers need a little fashion advice.

The closet has clothing, shoes, accessories, and other items that can be put together to complete a professional outfit. All the clothes from the store are donated.

Violet Washburn, Coordinator of Campus Engagement and International Student Services said, "The closet is to help students prepare for professional interviews, networking events, and more. Having the right clothes is important and we know not every student can afford them.”

The Career Clothing Closet has been open for nearly two months now. For more information about the Career Clothing Closet, contact Lydia Kieffer-Till at lydia.kieffer@maine.edu or (207) 768-9502.
