You couldn't have asked for better weather for Tim Hortons' annual Camp Day on Wednesday.

The sun was shining and staff and volunteers were amped up for this yearly fundraising event. I did a stint as a greeter and order-taker at the drive-thru, something I've been volunteering to do the last few years.

The event raises money to send low-income kids from the community on a camp experience that helps to teach them life-changing skills.

On Camp Day, every penny from coffee sales during the 24-hour period, as well as money raised through Camp Day bracelet sales, donations, special events and activities, is donated to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to building a brighter future for low-income youth by providing an enriched experience that will build confidence and a more positive view of the world and their place in it.

This year more than 19,000 kids will attend one of the seven Foundation Camps.
