#11 Boston University scored the first two goals of the game and never gave up the lead at Alond Arena Friday night. The Terriers beat UMaine 5-2.

The Black Bears did get to within a goal in the second period after Cam Brown scored a powerplay goal to make it 2-1.

But BU scored the next two goals to take the commanding 4-1.

The teams swapped late third period goals. Blaine Byron scored Maine's second goal.

Matt Morris finished with 29 saves. Terriers goalie Sean Maguire made 32.

Maine's Hockey East record falls to 2-7-2 (5-16-4 overall). BU is 6-4-3 (12-7-4).

The home-and-home series continues tonight with the game in Boston.
