The Boston Bruins know they have no room for error and played like that Tuesday night. A 4-1 win over a good Nashville Predators team keeps them in control of their own destiny for the NHL playoffs.

Two first period goals, one by Patrice Bergeron and one by David Krejci set the tone.

Tuukka Rask, back from an injury that kept in out of the last game, was terrific stopping 24 shots.

Rookie Noel Acciari scored his first NHL goal for third period insurance and then David Backes had the empty netter to finish it off.

The Bruins are 40-30-6, good for 86 points in the standings. They stay one point behind Toronto for third spot in their division but are three points ahead of Tampa Bay for the final wildcard playoff spot.

Six games remain with the next one Thursday night vs Dallas.
