The only thing in sports that takes longer than the deflategate investigation is the search for a new Boston Bruins General Manager, a search that might have a new leader. The Boston Herald reports that former general manager Harry Sinden has been brought in by owner Jeremy Jacobs to serve as a consultant in the search for Peter Chiarelli's replacement. The 82 year old Sinden served as the GM for 28 years and the team President for 17. Jacobs is concerned that his son Charlie and team President Cam Neely lack the experience in running a team and wants to make sure they get the right person.

Many believe assistant GM Don Sweeney will get the job, but others believe the Bruins are holding out for Rangers assistant GM Jeff Gorton who served as assistant GM for the Bruins under Sinden. Gorton would also be in line to take over the Rangers if Glen Sather who is 72 years old decides to retire from that position at the end of the season.
