Graduating from high school is already a memorable moment, so an appearance from Brad Paisley on such a milestone day only makes it more exciting. The country star recently "crashed" an Illinois high school's graduation ceremony, after the school's senior class won a contest hosted by Paisley.

On Friday (June 2), Paisley surprised the Class of 2017 at Barrington High School in Barrington, Ill., People reports. The top-secret show was the grand prize for the contest that Barrington's seniors entered on social media; Paisley asked graduating classes across the country to share videos of what they would miss most about high school. Barrington High School's entry -- which readers can see clips of in the video above -- featured the teens mattress-surfing down the school's stairs and other hi-jinks; Paisley selected the winning video himself.

During his time onstage at Barrington High School's graduation, Paisley performed “Letter to Me,” “Today” and his newest single, “Last Time for Everything;" the latter song, which Paisley ad-libbed to include a nod to the contest winners, has a particular relevance for high school seniors who are moving on to the next step in life. Paisley also delivered some advice to the school's Class of 2017.

“My advice to you, as you go through life, is to enjoy the moments. Make memories, enjoy them, and don’t take yourself too seriously,” Paisley told the the more than 750 students in Barrington High School's graduating class. “Go change the world, y'all!"

Paisley recently launched his Weekend Warrior World Tour in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He’ll continue to tour throughout the summer and fall, making stops in the U.S., Canada, Sweden and Norway; his supporting acts on the trek are Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant, and Lindsay Ell.
