A 14-year-old New Brunswick boy is facing charges in relation to a gun incident at the Woodstock High School on Monday morning.

According to Deputy Chief John Foster, Woodstock Police responded to the school shortly after 10:30 a.m. after school staff discovered an unloaded firearm.  Police took the student into custody and the gun was seized.

Foster said that at no time were students at the school in any danger.

The 14-year-old was taken to the Woodstock Police Station and later released into his parents custody on conditions he appear in Woodstock Youth Court at a later date.

The boy is charged with possessing a prohibited weapon. The investigation is continuing.
