Body of Boater Recovered From Spednic Lake
The body of a 38-year-old man was recovered from Spednic Lake, a portion of the St. Croix River waterway Wednesday.
McAdam RCMP received a call shortly before 9pm Tuesday that a man had fallen out of an inflatable dinghy while on the water with a friend. After the man fell into the water he was immediately submerged and did not resurface.
RCMP Dive Team was called to the scene and recovered the body of Jayson Kenneth Townes, of McAdam, shortly before noon.
McAdam and Harvey fire departments assisted with the search. Foul play is not suspected. Townes was not wearing a life-jacket at the time.
