Former Black Bear Ben Bishop is heading back to the Eastern Conference finals after Tampa Bay blanked the Islanders 4-0 on Sunday to win the second round series four games to one.

The Lightning advance to the championship round for the second consecutive year and will try to win their first championship in the NHL after losing to Chicago in the Stanley Cup Final last year.  Bishop made 28 saves in the shutout and is now 21-13 in the postseason for his career, including an 8-2 record in the 2016 playoffs.  He is in his eighth season in the NHL after leaving the University of Maine after the 2007-08 season.

Tampa Bay now awaits the winner of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals series to see who they will play in the next round.  The Penguins currently lead the series 3-2.
