Make it 17 straight wins at home for the UMaine women's basketball team but last night's 59-55 victory over UNH was anything but easy.

The Black Bears led by as many as 17 but the Wildcats cut the lead to two late in the game. The win makes Maine19-7 overall and 10-1 in America East.

Sigi Koizard and Bella Swan each scored 20 points to lead the Bears. Koizar's night included 4-for-5 three point shooting.

As a team Maine shot 48% on threes (7-for-15).

Elizabeth Belanger led UNH with 21. The Wildcats are 8-15 and 2-8.

The Maine women's program raised over $9,400 for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, raising awareness and money for women's cancer research.

In Durham, NH, the UMaine men's team fell to UNH 88-75 despite 23 points from Kevin Little and and 19 from Shaun Lawton.

The Wildcats shot almost 51% from the floor and were led by Tanner Leissner with 26 and Ronnel Jordan with 25.

The Black Bears drop to 8-16 (4-7 AE). UNH is 14-9 (7-3 AE).
