The UMaine Black Bears fourth straight win came right down to the end. The fifth intercepton of the day against Rhode Island came at the goal line with just seconds left by Jason Matovu to preserve the 28-21 win.

Najee Goode, Darrius Hart, Darius Greene and Connor Walsh also had picks. Walsh returned his intercetion 48 yards for a touchdown.

Maine had taken the lead with 6:30 left in the game on a Dan Collins to Micah Wright 43 yard TD pass. Collins threw two TD passes and was 13-for-30 for 147 yards and no picks.

The picks were URI's problem. The Rams outgained Maine 430 to 348 but QB Jorand Vazzano threw the five interceptions.

Josh Mack led the Black Bears in rushing with 115 yards and a TD.

The road win puts Maine at 4-3 (3-1 CAA). Rhody is still winless.
