Bears Beat BC, Wood Tourney MVP

It took overtime but the UMaine women's basketball beat Boston College 69-65 to win the Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament at the Cross Center.

The win evens the UMaine record at 3-3, BC drops to 4-2.

Liz Wood was named tourney MVP. She had 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

Sigi Koizar and Anna Heise were also named to the all-tourney team. Koizar scored a game high 22 poitns.

Kellu Hughes led BC with 16.

UMaine Men's Basketball:  The Bears drop their 5th straight game to start the 2014-15 season, 61-56 at Northern Illinois.

After leading by 10 points at the half, Maine got out scored 40-25 in the second half.

Shaun Lawton and Marko Pirovic each scored 10 to lead the Bears. Michael Orris led North Illinois with 18.

Maine is 0-5, N. Illinois 3-1.
