When the Old Town and Orono basketball teams met on the court Tuesday it was not only a match-up of traditional rivals but also the top two teams in the Class B Heal Points.When the final buzzer sounded it was #2 Old Town beating #1 Orono 65-53 and taking the top spot in the standings.

The Coyotes jumped out to fast start thanks to the shooting of Chad Bartlett and Ryan Hoogterp who combined for 24 first half points. That allowed Old Town to lead the entire half and go into the locker room at the half up by 6 points.

Orono started the second half with a 7-0 run to take their first lead of the game before the Coyotes responded with four straight baskets, three by Bartlett who finished with a game high 21 points. Hoogterp finished with 12 as Old Town won their 8th straight game to improve to 8-1.

The Red Riots have dropped back-to-back games after starting the season 7-0. They were led by Imao Woldring who scored 19 off the bench, and 13 form point guard Nate Desisto. Orono also lost starting forward Keenan Collett in thesecond quarter with a sprained ankle after scoring just 2 points.
