Barron: ‘We Will Have Highest RPI, I Promise’
The UMaine women's basketball non-conference schedule released to the public yesterday is one of the toughest in the country. And that's just what coach Richard Barron wants.
National powerhouse South Carolina is on the schedule. So too, is Big 10 Purdue and ACC Boston College.
At least four teams on the schedule played in the NCAA tournament last year.
Barron says, "No one will out-schedule us in the conference. I'm going to do everything in my power not to ever again to play a conference championship game on the road with a 15-1 team"
He is referring to playing Albany on the road for the America East title despite being tied for the AE top spot. Albany hosted because of a higher RPI rankings.
