The Hampden Broncos scored a 54-46 win over the Bangor Rams in what was an intense 32 minutes of basketball. The first meeting of Class A vs Class AA was memorable.

Bangor jumped out to the early lead and had a 12-11 lead after one quarter.

Hampden came back to grab a three point lead at the half.

Then the Broncos scored the first nine points to start the third quarter to get a double-digit lead.

But every time that lead would go up, the Rams battled back. In fact, it was a six point game with a minute to go.

Jake Black led the Broncos with 17 points, Nick Gilpin added 14 and Ian McIntyre with 13.

Justin Smith led the Rams with 18, including 4 three-pointers.

Hampden is now 4-0. Bangor is 1-3.

NOTE:  The Bangor girls beat the Hampden girls 47-40. It was the Rams first win (1-3). The Broncos are now 2-2. Katie Butler scored 12 for Bangor. Melissa Gilpin scored 13 for the Broncos.
