Bangor's annual Festival of Lights parade is scheduled to step off at 4:30 on Saturday. And, with rain in the forecast, we contacted the Bangor Rotary who said the parade will take place, rain or shine!

Over 75 units are entered in this year's line-up of floats, musical groups, and others who will be decked out in holiday lights. Of course, Santa will be there and spokesperson Bob Potts assures us that his suit will be waterproof!

The parade will begin at 4:30 on Railroad Street in Bangor and travel down Main Street, through Downtown Bangor. Once downtown, it will bear left onto Central Street, right on Harlow, and will end by Camden National Bank.

Because of the rain, folks are encouraged to dress appropriately and dress their kids for the weather. In addition, safety is always a concern. Parents are urged to keep track of their children and prevent them from entering the parade route.

Once the parade is done, folks will gather in West Market Square for the lighting of Bangor's beautiful Christmas Tree. And, with that, the official Christmas season in Downtown Bangor will begin!
