Asselin Named New Town Manager in Houlton

The Houlton town council voted unanimously Monday evening to hire police chief Butch Asselin as Houlton's new town manager. 

Asselin has served as interim town manager since April after former town manager Eugene Conlogue resigned from the post.

Since 2007, Asselin has been chief of the Houlton Police Department and previously was police chief in Skowhegan.  He is expected to resign soon from his position as police chief to officially begin his duties as town manager.

Lt. Daniel Pelletier is currently serving as Houlton's interim police chief.
