THE COUNTY IS GOING TO BE THE PLACE THIS WEEKEND AS HALF A FOOT OF SNOW TO A FOOT IN A HALF HAS BEEN REPORTED IN PARTS OF THE AREA.

We are back into the swing of things throughout the majority of the County, with this week’s snow and cold temps this should set us up for some nice trails. There are still a few areas that did not get much for snow so please be careful if out in these sections.

Remember that this is Can-Am Sled dog weekend in Fort Kent, the dog teams will be using small sections of our ITS trail system. ITS 92/85 and Carr Pond trails will be used, they are marked with green signs and volunteers on the trails. The trails are still open to snowmobiles so please use caution when approaching a dog team.

Remember that the Central area of the County was down for a week or so due to icy conditions, the ice is still there underneath the new snow. If the trails get a lot of traffic the turns will get cleared off of snow until the trails get groomed again so please keep this in mind and ride right.

CAUTION: RIVER CROSSING IN THE FORT FAIRFIELD AREA IS NOT ADVISED DUE TO UNSAFE ICE CONDITIONS ON THE AROOSTOOK. MADAWASKA RIVER AS WELL IS UNSAFE.
