The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded nearly $1.5 million to help recruit, train, and retain more American women in quality pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs.

These careers include, but are not limited to careers in manufacturing, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, among other industries.

The good news is that the Aroostook County Action Program was awarded $354,941 to help aid women enter apprenticeship programs and for the expansion of job opportunities.

The grants are designed to provide ongoing orientations for job creators, unions, and workers creating a successful environment for women to succeed in the workplace.
