Executive Director, Kristen Wells, said it’s crucial that Gauvin Scholars realize their impact in their communities.

The Best of Aroostook activity allows their opinions to be more thoughtfully developed, their voices to be heard, and their collaborative decisions to be publicized," said Wells. "This is also an opportunity for them to defend, and more fully support, the businesses, services and activities they care about here - in all parts of Aroostook County. We remind them that without their patronage, their favorite places to go and things to do may not survive."

Winners will receive a certificate from Wells. Big Country 96.9 will have Aroostook Aspirations Initiative in studio to receive our award, Thursday, August 10th around 3:15 p.m.

One Gauvin Scholar said she’s glad her opinion matters and she has the opportunity to vote:

I feel proud and excited to know that businesses in my area are getting recognized for the hard work they put in, day in and day out. I’m also super happy that I played a part in helping them get recognized,” said Libby Theriault, 2017 WAGM-TV Gauvin Scholar.
