Aroostook Aspirations Initiative was among 200 organizations selected in the US and Canada to compete for a chance to win one of 40 State Farm Neighborhood Assist grants for $25,000. Their program was the only project selected in Maine.

Heidi's Hope, a community service based program, is at the center of this grant. Winning the grant could allow the program to make projects a reality this fall.

Voting opened to the Facebook community on Monday. Users have ten votes per day to allocate to any program in the top 200. Visit the State Farm Facebook page, search Aroostook or just click on the green dot in Maine to vote.

Last year, one Maine program made it to the final cut, ended up in the top 40 and received the grant.
