The soon-to-be-named 2017 ARCA Series Racing champion, Austin Theriault from Fort Kent, will step back into Maine and race this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Theriault will jump in a car he owns and race in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) final race of the year on Saturday before he resumes the ARCA Series next week. It's the Super Late Model Division race of PASS

"Oxford has a lot of great history. It's the home of the legendary Oxford 250…they've been running it since the 70s. A lot of guys from the south -- the Pettys, the Earnhardts, the Allisons -- all used to come up." - ARCA Press Release

Theriault needs only to show up and start the final race in the ARCA Series in Kansas next Friday night to win the driver championship. He has dominated that national series, winning seven races and finishing in the top 10 in all 19 races driving the #52 car for the Kenny Schrader Racing Team. He has a 400 point lead over Dalton Sargeant for the ARCA title.

Theriault is hoping his ARCA success will translate into a fulltime driving job at some level of NASCAR next year.

NOTE: Two-time Oxford 250 winner Travis Benjamin from Morrill leads in points for the PASS driver championship heading into Saturday's race. He has a 25 point lead over Turner's Glen Luce.
