A Biddeford woman has been arrested for selling heroin - as part of an on-going state wide effort focused on the distribution of heroin.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s York District Task Force, along with Biddeford Police and the Southern Mane Violent Offender Task Force arrested Denyielle Banks, 43, of Biddeford for Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Heroin.)

For the past three months, MDEA agents have been investigating the sale of heroin in greater Biddeford area, including making several undercover purchases of heroin from Banks. The purchases were made within 1000 feet of a designated drug free safe zone.

Tuesday afternoon MDEA agents along with Biddeford Police with one of their canines, and the Southern Maine Violent Crime Task Force, arrested Banks at her apartment at 57 Sullivan Street in Biddeford. Seized from the apartment was 74 grams of heroin with a street value of $10,500.

Banks was taken to the York County Jail and was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
