California-based Americana singer-songwriter Amilia K. Spicer is premiering her new track “Harlan” exclusively for readers of The Boot.

"Harlan" is a classic traveler's ode; the wanderlust is palpable as Spicer sings, “Whiskey runs through me like Mississippi mud,” in her distinctive, husky timbre. Invoking her upbringing in rural Pennsylvania, Spicer vividly describes the trappings of small-town America in "Harlan" as she continues, “Just leaves you thirsty / Can’t water down your blood / Red barn standing on a hill / Silos and steeples that can bend your will.”

Both an Americana up-and-comer and a photographer, Spicer has been busy so far this year and is gearing up for an exciting couple of months. In February, Spicer performed at the 2017 Folk Alliance International festival alongside fellow rising artist Tift Merritt, and in June, she'll tour across the country with singer-songwriter John Gorka. Her new album, Wow and Flutter, is due out on April 28.

Wow and Flutter is available for pre-order via PledgeMusic. Fans can keep up with Spicer's tour schedule on her official website.
