According to the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office, On Monday morning at about 11:40 a.m., Norman Estabrook, 21, of Houlton, was driving his 2006 Dodge Caravan north toward Houlton on U.S. Route 1 in Hodgdon when his vehicle struck a 1998 Saturn being driven by Ronald Dupont, 47, of Linneus.

Dupont was traveling in the opposite direction on U.S. Route 1 and was turning into Tidd’s Sport Shop. Estabrook's vehicle struck the passenger’s side of Dupont's vehicle, pushing both vehicles into the driveway of Tidd’s Sport Shop, said the Sheriff's Office. The vehicles then hit a 2014 Can Am ATV and a 2011 Can Am ATV.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts and no one was injured. It is believed both of the automobiles are a total loss and both ATVs also sustained serious damage.

Traveling too fast for road conditions and driver inattention are the primary factors in this accident, said the Sheriff's Office.

As winter weather starts to descend on us, even though it is late in the season, we ask people to allow extra time to reach their destinations and to slow down to speeds that are safe for the road conditions.
