According to the RCMP, a 26-year old man from Miramichi was sentenced to six months in prison for breaching his probation concerning charges of child pornography.

Timothy Richobaud received his conviction in 2016 and was told that he could have no contact with children, to include communicating with them, under the age of 16.

An investigation by the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit found that Richobaud was having internet conversations with a 15-year old boy in the United States.

That investigation led to new charges for Richobaud, who pled guilty to two charges of failure to comply with a probation order and failure to comply with a probation order and was sentenced to 6 months in prison on May 24.
