It's not quite four-wheel drive, but it's pretty close.

A 90-year-old tortoise in Britain named Mrs. T has been outfitted with wheels for front legs after they were chewed off by a rat (sorry for the ugly imagery, but we had to tell you the backstory).

The vet bills started piling up quicker than any tortoise could ever hope to move, so Mrs. T's owner enlisted the help of her son, who just so happens to be a mechanical engineer.

Her son took wheels from a toy plane and created an axle for the animal's shell. The next thing you know, Mrs. T is cruising around like a teenager.

Her owner said, "She took to her new wheels straight away but she has had to learn how to turn and stop. She can get a good speed up, much faster than before."

Sounds like she's a fast learner.
