The results of New Brunswick's 2016 resident moose draw are now available.

Energy and Resource Development Minister Rick Doucet is congratulatng the successful applicants in this year’s resident moose draw, Docuet says he hopes those New Brunswickers that have been selected have a safe and productive hunt.

Hunters can verify the draw results by calling 1-800-459-3729 or by checking online at the Department of Energy and Resource Development website. When verifying the draw results, applicants require their Outdoors Card number. The department says it will not be notifying successful applicants by mail in the event of a Canada Post strike, which could begin Wednesday.

There were more than 61,000 applications for 4,643 moose licences available for this year’s provincial hunt, which runs from Sept. 20 to Sept. 24.

Doucet says licences will be available for purchase starting Aug. 15.
