It's been several years since our friend and intern Matthew "Nameless the Intern" Turnbull passed away tragically due to a car accident, but his memory lives on!

Matthew Turnbull's 2015 "Livin' The Dream" Scholarship benefit will be held on Saturday, March 14th at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center.

The social hour and silent auction  will begin at 7 p.m., then come and dance the night away from 8 p.m. to midnight to Matt's favorite local band, Common Crossing.

I had a chance to speak with Matt's mother, Lynn about the annual fundraising benefit. Here's what she had to say.

Cover charge is $10 per person.

All proceeds benefit the "Livin' the Dream" Scholarship fund established with the express purpose of assisting two students annually pursuing an education in the trades at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle.

NMCC was really where Matt found his niche. He earned an associate’s degree, as well as two additional certifications at NMCC, one of which included the distinction of “Outstanding Student of the Year” in the Metal Fabrication Program. He loved the community college and was a frequent visitor even after graduation. Matthew was proud of his educational achievements and his connection with the school and continued learning was a priority in his life.

Anyone who knew Matt quickly recognized his energy, humor, and generous spirit. He was always wearing a smile and when asked how he was doing, he would reply “I’m Livin’ the Dream” no matter the day or the circumstance, which became the inspiration behind the name for the scholarship fund.

Please join in supporting education through Matt's spirit of giving in the 'County'!
