1st Time Ever: Bangor Vs Thornton Academy Hoops

For the first time ever, the Bangor Rams and the Thornton Academy Golden Trojans will meet on the basketball court tonight. Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket has live coverage.

The night begins at 6pm with the girls game. Bangor is 5-4 in Class AA North and seeded #3. Coach Joe Johnson's Rams have won four in a row after starting out the season 1-4.

Thornton Academy is 7-2 in Class AA South and seeded #4. Coach Eric Marston and his Trojans are coming off a loss to top ranked Gorham earlier in the week.

The boys game is a 7:30pm tip time. Bangor is 2-7 under first year coach Carl Parker, putting the Rams #7 in Class AA North.  The Rams have had monster schedule - this game marking the sixth time playing an undefeated team at the time of the game. (Cheverus, Hampden, Deering, Brewer, Portland).

Thornton Academy is 8-0 in Class AA South. That puts the Trojans in the #4 spot. Coach Bob Davies picked up 150th career win earlier in the week with a win over Gorham, making him the winningest coach in TA history.
