Friday, May 2

The Caribou Friends for Scouts will sponsor a Teen Dance & Black Light Party at their meeting hall  at 71 Aldrich Drive in Caribou. Young people in grades 6-8  are invited from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.  The high school dance party starts at 9:00.  Drinks, snacks & glow sticks.  $5 admission. FMI, call 551-4098.

Downtown Presque Isle will be bustling with the First Friday Art Walk.  Enjoy live music and art displays at a number of shops, cafes and galleries in the downtown area.  Tasty food and good company. Click here for the Art Walk's full lineup.

 

Saturday, May 3

Stop by the Hodgdon Project Graduation Yard Sale on Saturday from 8 to noon at Hodgdon High School.  Get some great deals on a wide array of items. Food will also be available to purchase. For more info, call 532-7197.

420 Run, Fort Kent.  A 5K run/walk for all ages and abilities. Start & finish at Fort Kent Community High School. Registration is 9:00 a.m. The Kids’ Fun Run starts at 9:45. Race start: 10:00. Proceeds to support Community Voices substance abuse prevention programs.  Click here for more info.

The Annual Meduxnekeag River Canoe Race is happening Saturday in Houlton.  Entry fee is $15 adults/ $10  for youth.  the course is approximately 8 miles.  Benefits Dollars for Scholars. For more info call the Houlton Chamber of Commerce at  532-4216.

Check out the Mother's Day Vendor & Craft Fair in Oakfield on Saturday from 9 - 3. Treat yourself to a day of shopping or pick up a nice gift for someone special.  A wide variety of vendors and crafters at the Oakfield Community Center.

The Aroostook Artisans Craft Fair on Saturday from 10 - 4 at the Community Center in Van Buren. A warm and friendly craft fair makes a great shopping experience in time for Mother's Day gifts.  No admission fee. Good and reasonably priced refreshments. For more info, call 498-9120.

The Aroostook River Voices vocal and instrumental ensemble will hold its Spring Concert Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Washburn District Elementary School.  The group originated in Ashland but includes members from throughout central Aroostook County. FMI: contact Larry Hall at 764-3651.

It's Family TV Game Night at the Caribou High School on Saturday, from 6 to 9 pm. Part of Relay for Life. Featuring games from TV: The Price is Right, Family Feud, Minute to Win It, and more! You have a chance to make it on the stage, based on where you sit in the Caribou Performing Arts Center. There will be a bake sale, luminary making, survivor sign up, relay sign up and more! There will be a Benefit Spaghetti Supper on Saturday from 5:45 - 7:00 pm at Grant Memorial United Methodist Church in Presque Isle. All funds go to GIFT (Grace Interfaith Food Table) with a matching grant from Good Shepherd Food Bank.  Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12.

The Class of 2017 will host a Fundraiser Basketball Game on Saturday evening at 7:00 at the Van Buren High School Gym. The Fearless Firemen will challenge the Freshman to a basketball game with a twist. Prizes during half time for foul shots, and a 5050 raffle. Admission is $5/ $3 for students.

Sunday, May 4

The Aroostook River Voices vocal and instrumental ensemble will hold an encore  Spring Concert at the Presque Isle Middle School  Sunday at 2 p.m.  FMI contact Larry Hall at 764-3651.

A Benefit  Dinner and Game Day for Brenda Pelletier and Marie Deschenes on Sunday from 11 - 3 at Fort Kent Community High School. Great food, raffles, and both Bingo and Charlemenge tournaments. Cost for dinner and fun is $7. For more info, call Lorie at 398-3041.

The 2nd Annual Safe Homes Aroostook 5K Run/Walk, Presque Isle. Join the “Move to End Homelessness.” Registration: 12:00 p.m. at UMPI’s Gentile Hall. Race start: 1:00 p.m. Fee: $15. There will also be activities in the gym for the children to enjoy.  Click here for more info.
