The field is now set for the NCAA division III softball tournament and the Husson Eagles will take on Eastern Connecticut State University to open the regional Friday.The Eagles are coming off their 7th straight North Atlantic Conference championship with a record of 26-11 under interim head coach Terren Hall. The Warriors are 29-6-1 after winning the Little East Conference championship going undefeated in the double elimination six team tournament.

Wheaton college in Norton Massachusetts is hosting the regional after getting an at-large bid. Wheaton will play Johnson & Wales, the fourth team in the region.

Husson played Eastern Connecticut on their spring trip to Florida and lost 1-0. They also played Wheaton on that same trip and lost 9-3.

This will be the third time the Eagles and Warriors have met in the regional with Husson losing in both 2010 and 2011.
